
Leila Anne Harris (pronounced Leela) received her B.A. from the University of Virginia and her Ph.D. in Art History from the CUNY Graduate Center. Her dissertation research was supported by the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Yale Center for British Art, and Paul Mellon Centre.
Leila has over a decade of experience working with photographs. She has held curatorial positions in photography departments at the Museum of Modern Art and the Morgan Library and Museum, and completed coursework in photography conservation at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Prior to her graduate studies, she worked in a commercial photography lab in Charlottesville, Virginia. Leila has taught courses in art history, the history of photography and museum studies at five NYC-area colleges.
